Niña has been taking photos since 2004 and has toured with Rivermaya and The Dawn both locally and internationally. She takes photos of concerts in Manila, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Among those she has taken photos of are Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, MUSE, Smashing Pumpkins, DEFTONES, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, Katy Perry, 30 Seconds to Mars, HURTS, Orianthi, Ian Brown (Stone Roses), Paramore, Anna Calvi, M83, Feist, Mars Volta, Usher, Ziggy Marley among others.

In 2007, she was chosen as one of 22 photographers (from more than three thousand global participants) by JPG Magazine to participate in their “Breakthrough” exhibit held at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery in 2007.

 

In 2010, she was shortlisted on NME MAGAZINE’s Music Photography Awards professional category and several of her photos were featured in the top rated ones in the website.

 

She was part of an exhibit in Ayala Museum last December 2010 called Popocalyptic,  a visualization of the “Almost End Of The World”, which is an offshoot from the album cover she designed for The Camerawalls. She has also designed the album cover for Japs Sergio’s Solo Project “Monologue Whispers” and is currently in the process of creating an album cover for the band “Malay”, fronted by Pochoy Labog

 

In May 2011she was chosen as the People’s Choice photographer for The Focus Project, a collaborative project by Artists Wanted between several New York City artists and creative organizations working to build new lasting opportunities for creative talent. 

 

 

She has been a part of the official photography team of music festivals in Singapore such as SINGFEST 2010 and St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2012 under Aloysius Lim, Singapore’s top music photographer.

 

She has interviewed bands like Kasabian, Boys Like Girls, MUSE, Hurts and Ziggy Marley and had a monthly column for PULP Magazine called “One Hip Wonder” for almost 3 years.

 

Nominated in the ARTISTE Category for the 1st ever Globe Tattoo Awards, featured in Spot.ph as one of the 10 Cool Pinoys to follow on Tumblr and is part of Preview Magazine’s Creative IT List 2011. She is also in Rogue Magazine January – February 2012 issue as one of the 14 Women Who Rock describing her as one of the Archivists. 

 

Her photos have been published in Giant Robot (US), PULP, UNO Mag, PLAYBOY, FHM, Rogue, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star, Preview Magazine, among others

 

She does still photography for movies and was invited to the 2009 Toronto International Film Fest for her production work in a local film. She won Best Original Song for her composition “Sana Ako’y Marinig” In the 2010 PMPC Star Awards and was nominated in the same year and category at the ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards.
